Try it: give your mouse a quick shake

A little magic wherever you type.

Highlight any text or click into a text box, and a glowing dot appears. Tap it for a tiny AI chat right beside your words. Rewrite, explain, translate or ask anything, then apply the answer without leaving the page.

How it works

Three taps. Zero tab switching.

Orrie lives on the page you're already on, so your train of thought stays exactly where it was.

1

Highlight or click in

Select any text, or click into a text box. A small glowing dot appears right where you're working.

2

Tap the dot

Pick a one-tap action like Improve writing or Explain, or just ask anything about it.

3

Apply it in place

Orrie writes the answer straight back into your text box. No copying, no pasting, no new tab.

Features

Small on the page. Big on what it can do.

Everything you'd want from an AI chat, tucked into a popover that knows what you're looking at.

Shake to summon

No dot needed. A quick side-to-side shake opens Orrie wherever your cursor is. You can tune how firm the shake needs to be.

Your page keeps its focus

Orrie types through its own little editor, so your cursor, your selection and your place on the page never move while you chat.

Shake, then circle anything

Give your mouse a quick shake and an aurora washes over the page. Circle or drag over anything, like a chart, a photo or a paused video, and it drops into your chat as a screenshot. Nothing sends until you're ready.

One-tap actions

Improve writing, fix grammar, shorten, summarise, explain, translate or draft a reply. Reorder them, switch them off or write your own.

Attach files

Drop in images, PDFs up to 25 MB and text or code files, up to six at a time.

Keyboard friendly

Press Alt + J (Option + J on a Mac) to open Orrie anywhere. Esc closes it.

A full-page chat when you need room

Continue any chat in a clean full-page view with search, message editing and your whole history. It all lives in your browser, not on a server.

Writes the way you do

Set your spelling (yes, Australian English is in there), answer length, translation language and custom instructions once.

Off where you want it off

Turn Orrie off on any site in two clicks, or hide the dot and just use the shake or the shortcut.

Models

Pick the right brain for the job

Orrie runs on OpenAI's GPT-5.6 family. Switch between them any time from the picker at the top of the chat.

Privacy

Private by design, not by a setting

Orrie only sees what you ask it about, and your conversations never get saved to a server.

History on your device

Chats are saved in your browser. Clear them any time, set them to expire, or turn history off.

No account

Install and go. No sign-up, no email address, no profile.

No memory, no ads

Orrie doesn't build a profile of you or remember you between chats. The extension has no ads and no analytics.

Only what you ask about

Orrie reads a page only when you open it, and sends just your question and what it's about. Read the privacy policy.

Why Orrie instead of a sidebar

Most AI browser tools open a panel on the side of your screen and ask you to sign in. Orrie opens next to your words and asks for nothing.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Orrie free?

Yes. Orrie is free to install and comes with free messages every day, with no account. If you use it a lot, you can add your own OpenAI API key for unlimited use, and a Plus plan is on the way. See pricing.

Do I need an OpenAI API key?

No. Free messages work straight away. A key is optional, for people who want unlimited use or a particular model. If you add one, it's stored only in your browser and sent only to OpenAI.

What does Orrie send, and where?

Only what you ask about: your message, the text you highlighted or the text box you're in, any files or circled areas you add, and the page's title and address. Actions like Summarise this page or Draft a reply also include the page's text. You can switch page context off in Settings.

That goes to OpenAI to write the answer, and your chat history is saved only in your browser. The privacy policy has the details.

Which websites does it work on?

Most of them: anywhere you can highlight text or type into a normal text box, like email, docs, social sites and forms. Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages, such as the Chrome Web Store and settings. Some editors that draw their own text, like Google Docs, may not show the dot.

How is Orrie different from Gemini in Chrome?

Gemini is built into Chrome and it's free, which is great. The difference is where you work: Gemini's answers open in a side panel, while Orrie keeps the whole conversation in a small chat next to your text, and Apply drops the result straight into the text box you're in. Orrie also doesn't need a Google sign-in, and your history stays on your device.

Does it work in Edge, Brave or other browsers?

Orrie is built for Chrome. Most Chromium browsers, like Microsoft Edge and Brave, can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, but we haven't tested every one yet.

Does Orrie remember things about me?

No. There's no memory feature. Each chat stands on its own. If you want Orrie to write a certain way, add custom instructions in Settings.

Can I turn it off on certain sites?

Yes. Open the menu in the chat and choose Turn off on this site, or manage your list in Settings. You can also hide the dot and only use the shake or the keyboard shortcut.
